Good Buy!

This faux fur coat was a bargain found at a factory outlet store.  It cost under $30 and has been one great fashion investment.  Warm, stylish and comfortable, the price was only about a quarter of what it would have sold for at full retail.  It was also purchased during the winter.  This was a great purchase because not only was it found at a great price, it has been worn so much that the meager investment has more than paid off.

Good values don't only show up off-season.  The trick is to know where to look.  The one catch for this particular outlet, is that the purchase has to be cash - they don't take all types of cards.  Sometimes, that is a good thing as it helps avoid the temptation to overspend.

This trench coat was a recent purchase.  Since it was an off-season piece (on clearance at the same outlet), it was uber-cheap: $10.  The retired life means very little reason to wear a coat such as this -- but there will be times when it will be needed.  Finding a raincoat for ten bucks fit the bill for the purpose of providing an article of clothing that will be used sporadically.

Thrifty shopping doesn't only happen at the second-hand level.  When new can  be found at a bargain, and if the quality is good, it pays to just buy.  It's quite possible that a piece which will pay for itself might just find its way into your life -- whether you specifically went in search for it or not!
