Don't Buy -- Make Your Own!

This necklace was a late night project, undertaken to squelch the desire to buy a piece of jewelry.  The beads and shells were already on hand, part of an earlier bout of jewelry making.  By making this necklace, a purchase was avoided but a new piece was still added to this lady's overly large collection.

This lady also loves to layer.  All but one piece in this collection was crafted at home.  The pearl stretch bracelet was a gift, but it fits in just fine with this hand-crafted collection.

Blue mother of pearl seemed to be just the ticket for a new spring piece.  There wouldn't have been enough blue faux pearls had small glass beends not been used as spacers.  The pearl choker was a much older piece (also made at home) and the larger white bead necklace is on a stretch cord, comprised of old glass beads from a beloved broken vintage piece.

These pieces will be nice on a spring or summer outfit -- this girl's never content to wear just one piece at a time.  Less is always more!

    1. I don't buy the old "Dress for Success" concept of looking at yourself before you leave your house and then take off one accessory piece. And I will always envy your layering techniques!

  2. I wish I could make nice pieces like yours. I have a ton of old jewelry which can be turned to new ones. The problem is, I am neither handy nor patient.

    1. I need to buy better materials and actually gain some skills, but I am content to hack together a piece here and there!
